Pastor Kenrick brings a wealth of experience and a passion for spiritual growth to the Baltimore Church of God of Prophecy, focusing on small group ministry, stewardship, and the discovery of spiritual gifts. Born and raised in Guyana, he has served in leadership roles in his local church in Guyana and St. Vincent and the Grenadines and facilitates yearly classes on spiritual gifts and financial management.

His foundational ministry included organizing Gleaner Band (Children’s ministry), teaching Sunday School, and leading youth at his childhood church (Mahaicony Church of God of Prophecy). Later, while working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, he was set forth as a Lay Minister, serving in youth and men’s ministries.

Pastor Kenrick is a bivocational leader serving both as a pastor and as a Senior Pharmacologist at the  U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Silver Spring, Maryland. Dr. Semple holds a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida. He is married to Candace Semple, and they have a teenage son, Jaden.

Our History

In October 2019, a fellowship of ten believers began holding Sunday services at Govans Presbyterian Church in Towson, Maryland. Despite pandemic-induced shutdowns in March 2020, rather than drifting apart, they transitioned to online worship, Bible studies, and prayer, connecting members from living rooms across Baltimore via Zoom, strengthening their bonds. This period of resilience and growth saw the group attract new members and foster a connected community.

In August 2022, the group officially organized as the Baltimore Church of God of Prophecy with eighteen founding members, initially meeting at the Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore/Woodlawn. The congregation later moved to Essex, Maryland, and acquired the building formerly used by the Essex Church of God of Prophecy to establish a permanent home.

With roots in the area since the 1980s, the church remains a vibrant spiritual presence in Essex. Today, it serves the community through in-person and online worship, food distribution, and online prayer, serving as a beacon of hope and faith.
